The United Kingdom is an excellent place to work, and many people worldwide want to come and work here. If you're from outside the European Union (EU), you'll need to get a work visa before working in the UK. Many types of work visas are available in the UK, each with different eligibility criteria and fees.

  • The common visa type is the Tier 2 General visa uk, which allows skilled workers to come to the UK to work for an employer with a valid Tier 2 license.
  • Other types of work visa include the Tier 2 Intra-Company Transfer visa, which allows employees of multinational companies to transfer to a UK branch of their organisation, and the Tier 5 Youth Mobility Scheme visa allows all young people from certain countries to live and work there for up to two years.

Healthcare Surcharge

The UK work visa healthcare surcharge is a mandatory fee that certain visa applicants must pay to access the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK. The surcharge is in addition to the England work visa application fee and is used to contribute towards the costs of NHS healthcare. It is also in line with the government's commitment to reduce the overall net migration to the UK.

The surcharge, which will apply to all visas lasting six months or more, is expected to raise an estimated £200 million annually to help fund the country's National Health Service (NHS). The cost of the healthcare surcharge is also required and is currently £624 per year.
