Overview

The United Kingdom encourages qualified people to work in the country through the Tier 2 visa, which has been replaced with Skilled Worker visa since 2020. Workers on the Tier 2 Shortage Occupation List are eligible to apply and work in the United Kingdom on a long-term basis via this programme. We can assist you in capitalising on the U.K.'s skills deficit and positioning yourself to get a work permit in the U.K.

Requirements

Skilled Worker visa applications are assessed using a point-based system in the United Kingdom. To be eligible for the visa, you must have at least 70 points. The following criteria are used to award points:

  • Whether or not you have a Sponsorship Certificate from your employer
  • Whether or not you are paid fairly
  • Your command on the English language
  • The amount you have set aside for maintenance

Supporting Documents

  • Possessing a legitimate employer's Certificate of Sponsorship
  • Information on pay and finances
  • Certifications demonstrating your English proficiency
  • Current passport
  • Certificate of No Conviction
  • Additional documentation

Validity

This visa allows you to stay for up to 5 years.

The length of your contract determines the length of your work visa. You have the option to prolong your stay if you have not yet reached the maximum time limit for your visa type. You'll need to apply for a visa extension either online or at a premium service centre for visas in the United Kingdom.
